ATOM COLOR Putrid Flesh is a modeling paint from the Spanish brand AMMO of Mig Jimenez from the ATOM range. A shade for painting unhealthy skin, meant mainly for fantasy and gaming figures.
Responsibility details are not available.
The shade is named in full ATOM COLOR Putrid Flesh and in the ATOM range it closes the group of violet and pink-violet tones. The name says plainly what the shade is meant for: painting the undead, risen corpses, mutants and other beings whose skin is to read as unhealthy. The range also carries ordinary flesh tones marked Flesh beside it, but this one is deliberately shifted outside the natural span.
The paint is meant for players and collectors of figures who build fantasy and horror subjects. It proves itself anywhere skin is to read as unhealthy, and as a starting layer onto which glazes and shadows are then applied. Anyone after a natural flesh tone will reach in the range for the shades marked Flesh without this epithet.
Mix the bottle before opening it and during the work, so that the shade stays even. Build the paint up gradually in thin coats: you will get a more even surface and keep the detail of the surface. It pays to make a test coat on an offcut, especially when you combine the shade with shading or glazes. Take the method of application and the drying time from the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging. Work with good ventilation and keep the paint out of the reach of children.
