This is a decal set in 1:72 scale from the brand Model Maker for the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.V in Polish service. The name marks it as the first part, followed up by a continuation of the series. It is not a kit but a sheet of decals for a finished and painted model.
The Spitfire Mk.V was the most widespread version of this British fighter during the Second World War, and it was flown by Polish squadrons within the Royal Air Force as well. Modelers have taken to the Mk.V precisely because of the variety of its markings, as one and the same type carried markedly different codes and insignia at different units. A decal set opens this variety up even to someone building an ordinary kit out of the box.
Prepare a glossy surface, because on matte paint a decal will go white and the edges of the film will stay visible. Dip the decal in clean water, let it soften on the paper and only then slide it onto the moistened place. Adjust the position with a soft brush, blot the surplus water off and use a softener, which draws the decal into the engraved lines. Once it is completely dry, wash the adhesive residues off and even the model out with a matte overcoat of the kind that suits a fighter of that period.
The package holds decals. The kit, the paints, the varnish and the softener are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
