Precisely cut self-adhesive masks in Japanese kabuki paper for the ICM 48268 kit; the paper adapts well to a rounded surface and leaves no adhesive behind once peeled off. The EXPERT level is the most extensive one in the maker's range: besides the outer frames of the glazing it covers the inner side of the panes, the sealing strips of the windows and the wheel hubs as well.
The Heinkel He 111 was among the mainstays of the German bomber force and its late versions were given a fully glazed asymmetric nose with no separate pilot's windscreen. One such machine fell into American hands at the end of the Second World War and served with the 56th Fighter Group of the USAAF as a liaison and transport aircraft. Its crews gave it a rich purple finish, thanks to which it became one of the most easily recognized captured aircraft of its time.
The glazed nose has dozens of tiny panes and tape cut by hand creases in their corners. A stuck-on mask, by contrast, holds the shape of the frame, so the edge of the paint comes out sharp and the work goes by an order of magnitude faster. The paper stands up to lacquer and water-thinnable paints alike and once dry it comes off with no risk of the coat of paint going with it.
This is an accessory for a kit. The package contains neither the aircraft itself nor paints.
