Historical figures in 1:72 scale from the maker Red Box, with the subject of Swiss artillery of the 16th century. Supplied unassembled and unpainted on the sprue.
An artillery set differs from a foot one in that its center of gravity is not a figure but a gun. The crew around it carries out the individual tasks and the scene thus explains itself: who is aiming, who is handing something over, who is just out of the action. On a diorama, artillery therefore works as a fixed point that the foot and mounted sets relate to.
Artillery sets have more multi-part assemblies than foot ones: the barrel, the gun carriage, the wheels. It is precisely here that you find out whether the glue holds. Ordinary cement for polystyrene will not dissolve a joint on soft plastic and the joint will fall apart at the first touch; cyanoacrylate on a degreased and roughened area is more reliable, and for loaded joints a two-part epoxy. Wash the surfaces with warm water and detergent before gluing, let them dry out completely and fix the joint for the duration of curing.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and bases are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
