Eduard TBF/TBM masks 1:72 is a pre-cut self-adhesive masking set for a model of the American Avenger torpedo bomber. It gives sharp color transitions on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage. It is not a model but a masking aid.
Responsibility details are not available.
This pre-cut self-adhesive Eduard masking set in 1:72 scale is intended for the plastic model of the American carrier-based torpedo bomber Grumman TBF, or the license-built TBM Avenger. It is neither a kit nor a stand-alone model but a set of precisely shaped masks of thin yellow kabuki tape. The masks will be appreciated by modelers who want sharp color transitions on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage fields without lengthy cutting of tape by hand.
The Grumman TBF Avenger, also built under license as the TBM, is an American carrier-based torpedo bomber of the Second World War. It carried a multi-man crew under a long glazed canopy and a dorsal gun turret. It operated from the decks of aircraft carriers against surface targets in the Pacific and was among the most widespread carrier bombers of its day. The long cockpit glazing makes masking a more demanding task.
Degrease the extensive glazing of the long canopy and the gun turret carefully. Lift the masks off the backing and lay them patiently on the individual fields, working systematically frame by frame. Fine-tune the transitions with a strip of tape. Spray the paint with an airbrush in thin coats. The wheel masks separate the tire from the hub. Once the paint is dry, peel the masks off carefully at a sharp angle.
The package contains masks only. The model, paints, glue and decals are not included, unless stated otherwise.
