1:72 UH-60J in the finish of the rescue unit of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force at Atsugi is a plastic kit of the helicopter in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The plastic kit captures the Japanese version of the well-known four-blade helicopter in a striking search and rescue finish. The release is aimed at a machine serving with the rescue unit at Atsugi base, which sets both the color scheme and the markings enclosed. 1:72 is the most widespread scale for helicopters, so the model will slot in among the other pieces in a display case without trouble.
The UH-60J is the Japanese search and rescue variant of a machine derived from the American UH-60 family. It is built in Japan under license and used by both the Air and the Maritime Self-Defense Force. Against the combat versions you can tell it by the equipment for flight over the sea, the pronounced auxiliary tanks and the bright finish, which is meant to make the machine easier to find for a crew in distress. The task of these helicopters is to lift out castaways and the crews of downed aircraft, often in poor weather.
Rescue schemes stand or fall on a crisp transition between the dark base and the signal color: it pays to mask with tape and to spray onto a perfectly smooth base. The cockpit glazing is extensive, so it is worth masking it before finishing and completing the interior before you close the fuselage. Leave the rotor blades separate until the end and fit them once the whole is finished.
The box contains parts for building, not a finished machine; obtain paints and glue separately.
