Resin slipper underwing tanks for the Vampire Mk.I (2 pieces) in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not an aircraft model but a detailing accessory. The set brings two resin castings of slipper-type auxiliary fuel tanks, that is tanks that sit directly against the lower surface of the wing (similar to those that appeared on the Mosquito). It offers an alternative to the usual pylon-mounted tanks and widens the loadout options of the early Vampire.
The de Havilland Vampire Mk.I was one of the first British jet fighters, with its characteristic twin tail booms. Early machines could be fitted either with standard tanks on a pylon or with these close-fitting slipper tanks.
Wash the castings free of release agent and separate them from the casting blocks. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Sand the mating face of the tanks so that they sit cleanly against the wing, and fill the joint if need be. The set is made for the usual 1:72 kit of the Vampire Mk.I.
The set contains two resin tank parts. The aircraft kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
