Airfix Vickers Valiant B(PR)K.1 1:72 is a large injection-molded plastic kit of the British strategic bomber from the V-bomber family.
Responsibility details are not available.
A large injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the British manufacturer Airfix. The subject is the Vickers Valiant, the first of the three British strategic bombers of the V group (the V-bombers). This release captures the multipurpose B(PR)K.1 version for bombing, reconnaissance and air-to-air refueling and holds covers for the camera bay. Given the span and length of the real aircraft this is a substantial model, so reckon on plenty of space in the display cabinet.
The Valiant entered service as the first of the three V-bombers and was the most conventional of them. It was the first British aircraft to drop bombs in action, during the Suez Crisis, and also the first to drop a British hydrogen bomb in tests in 1957. The B(PR)K.1 version combined the roles of bomber, reconnaissance aircraft and tanker.
A large model deserves careful gluing of the joints with liquid cement and reinforcement of the main fuselage parts. Mask the extensive glazed areas of the cockpit, even the model out with primer and paint the large surfaces with an airbrush - with the light anti-flash white underside it pays to lay the paint on in thin coats. Support the heavy parts while they dry.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
