Responsibility details are not available.
The set from the Polish maker Hobby 2000 brings together several light vehicles of the Second World War in 1:72 in one box, along with small items of supply. According to the manufacturer it contains the German Kübelwagen field car, the half-tracked Sd.Kfz.2 known as the Kettenkrad, the American Willys, and with them jerrycans and crates. It is a rebox, that is a release of plastic from an existing mold in a new box and with a new decal sheet. For a modeler it is a handy way of getting the basis for a whole scene onto the bench with a single purchase.
The Kübelwagen was a light field car derived from a civilian type, so simple and light that a crew could free it by themselves. The Kettenkrad is an unusual machine even today: a motorcycle front wheel and a tracked running gear at the back, originally meant for airborne units and for towing light loads. The Willys became a symbol of Allied mobility and after the war the pattern for a whole class of off-road vehicles.
Small vehicles in 1:72 have a great many tiny parts, so work over a mat and dose the glue with the tip. Finish and paint the running gear and the tracks of the Kettenkrad before you close them up. Paint the jerrycans and the crates separately and fit them at the end. Keep the weathering restrained; in this scale a heavy wash drowns the detail rather than bringing it out.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
