A collectible model of the Soviet Yakovlev Yak-3 fighter in 1:72 scale, intended for a display case.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Yakovlev Yak-3 was one of the most agile Soviet fighters of the closing stages of the Second World War. It was created by lightening the earlier Yak-1 series: the designers reduced the wing area, took weight out of the airframe and simplified the equipment without touching the power of the engine. The result was a small fighter that climbed and turned better than most of its opponents at low and medium altitudes, and it was at those altitudes that most of the air combat on the Eastern Front took place. Power came from a liquid-cooled Klimov V12.
This is a collectible model in 1:72 scale, that is the size in which a collection can grow without outgrowing a single display case. Aircraft in the same scale stay comparable with each other, so standing side by side they show just how small the Yak-3 really was next to the heavy fighters of the day. The manufacturer's packaging states the finish of the model, its markings and the scope of supply.
Stand the model on a level surface out of direct sunlight, which changes the shade of the colors and the markings over time. Wipe the dust off with a soft brush, as a cloth catches on the propeller, on the antenna mast and on other thin projections. Solvents and cleaning products do not belong on the surface. Pick the model up by the fuselage, never by the propeller or the wingtips.
Paints, glue, a display case and modeling tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
