Photo-etched metal parts for a model of the Soviet fighter Yak-9D in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Yak-9 was among the most numerous Soviet fighters of the Second World War. It was a single-engine low-wing aircraft of mixed construction, simple to build and to maintain in field conditions. The D version received a greater fuel load in the wing and so gained a substantially longer range; it therefore suited escort work and operations over a vast battlefield, where the airfield was far behind the front.
The fret carries photo-etched metal parts for a model in 1:72 scale. Photo-etching makes it possible to produce elements that come out disproportionately thick in plastic: thin sheet metal covers, mesh screens, fittings and small cockpit equipment. The particular contents of the fret and the intended use of the set are given in the enclosed instructions.
Work over a surface from which a small part can be picked up again, and keep the fret whole until you really need a part. Make the cut with a sharp blade close to the tab and sand the remainder with a fine file. Apply super glue by transferring a drop on the tip of a pin, as straight from the bottle there tends to be many times more of it on a part this small than is needed. Before painting, wash and degrease the metal and give it a base coat intended for metal.
The kit of the aircraft, paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
