An add-on wheel set in 1:72 scale for a model of the Soviet ZiL-131 truck, fitted with tires of the M-93 type. This is not a vehicle kit and not a model: these are replacement wheels that take the place of the wheels from the base kit. The Ukrainian brand Armory specializes in cast wheel sets for Soviet equipment and makes them for aircraft as well as for trucks.
For modelers who want to push the detail of a truck in a small scale where it is most in view. The wheels of a truck are large and prominent, so a sharper tread pattern and a cleaner rim change the look of the whole model more than photo-etched details do. Working with cast parts does assume a little practice, however: before gluing, the parts have to be washed free of mold release agent, the casting blocks cut away and the seating face flattened. The wheels are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), because cement for plastic will not bond a casting.
When sanding castings, protect your breathing and work with extraction or wet; the dust from cast materials should not be inhaled. Keep the remains after cutting out of the reach of children. Whether the set fits a particular kit can be checked against the dimension of the axle and the wheel pin on the box and on the parts themselves.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
