An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet ZIS-22M half-track truck in 1:72 scale from the maker Zebrano. It is a short-run kit; the model captures the characteristic wheeled front axle and the tracked running gear at the rear. The package holds plastic sprues and a decal sheet.
The ZIS-22M was a Soviet half-track truck developed at the end of the 1930s for better mobility in rough ground and mud. It combined a wheeled front axle with a tracked running gear at the rear and served for transport and artillery towing duties. The design also became the basis for experimental vehicles, including a self-propelled anti-tank gun.
With a short-run kit, expect careful cleanup of the parts and some fitting. Assemble and paint the tracked running gear with the mud weathering in mind. Paint the interior of the cab and the bed before closing them up. The Soviet dark green shade is the right choice; a wash and dust pigments will complete the final weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
