An injection-molded plastic kit of a rigid Zeppelin airship of the P class in 1:720 scale from Mark I Models, this time in the Naval Raiders version, that is as ships of the Imperial German naval aviation. The box lets you build the zeppelin in the markings of the LZ45 or of the LZ58, and both ships served with the naval airship division of the Imperial German Navy. It includes the hull parts, the tail surfaces, the suspended gondolas and a stand; two marking options are available. It differs from the sister army kit of the LZ47 precisely in the naval allegiance and the schemes.
The airships of the P class were the most numerous type of German wartime zeppelins. They were made up of a rigid metal lattice frame covered with a tensioned fabric, with cells of highly flammable hydrogen inside. The ship had vertical and horizontal tail surfaces with rudders, the crew and the engines with pusher propellers were in two gondolas under the hull, and the ship carried its bombs in internal bays. The naval zeppelins were used for long-range reconnaissance over the sea and for night raids.
Glue the halves of the long hull with a thin cement, fill the joint and sand it smooth along its whole length. Glue the small gondolas, the propellers and the stabilizers only after painting. The naval ships tended to have darker lower surfaces; apply them with an airbrush, only suggest the panel seams and unify the surface with a matte varnish. Add the stand at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
