1 mm Nut with bolt shank is a set of small modeling nuts with a length of shank in the 1 mm size designation. It replaces a molded screw joint on a model of a vehicle.
Responsibility details are not available.
Small modeling nuts with a projecting length of shank, with the size designation 1 mm. It is not a kit or a finished model but an accessory with which a flat molded joint on a model is replaced by truer three-dimensional detail.
A nut with the end of a bolt passed through it is one of the most frequent details on vehicles: it holds gearbox covers, brackets, lifting eyes, fenders and the mounting of equipment. On injection-molded plastic it tends to be suggested only by a shallow projection with no visible threaded end. A separate part adds a surface on which the light breaks, and a row of such joints can visually transform a whole side of a hull or an engine cover.
Cut the original projection off with a scalpel and level the surface with a sanding sponge. Drill the hole with a micro drill in a hand holder, and preferably in two passes, with a smaller and then the final diameter. Set the part in with tweezers or a dampened brush and secure it with a minimal drop of cyanoacrylate glue, as excess glue will show under the paint as a glossy patch. Once it has cured, spray the surface with a primer to bring the finish into line. Finally pick the detail out with a dark wash, which will run in around the nut.
This is an accessory for the build of a model, not a model on its own. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
