The fourth volume of the Czech book range ARMADA from the publisher Jakab Publishing. It is a printed publication in Czech, not a model or a modeling accessory. According to the title the theme is the Ostrava operation of 1945 and the author of the volume is O. Kolar.
The Ostrava operation took place in the spring of 1945 in the area of northeastern Moravia and Silesia. The advance led through an industrial and densely built-up area threaded with watercourses, roads and a belt of prewar Czechoslovak fortifications, which slowed the whole advance down and called for the employment of artillery and engineer equipment. Czechoslovak units were involved in the fighting as well. From the point of view of hardware it is a period when late armored vehicles of both sides, field artillery and a great quantity of trucks and towing equipment met in one area, so the theme tends to be interesting for builders of vehicles and dioramas too.
For readers with an interest in the close of the Second World War in the Czech lands, for regional researchers and for modelers looking for a factual reference for a diorama of 1945. The text is conducted historically and factually.
This is a publication, not a kit. A model, paints and decals are not part of the delivery.
