A resin figure of the crew of an early firearm, 75 mm tall, the manufacturer's part number FI75-030. The Polish brand PANZER ART released it in 2025 in the FI75 line of collector's figures of this size. The subject is a person rather than a machine; the figure stands alone and does not belong to any kit.
The beginning of the 15th century is the time when gunpowder stopped being taken as a curiosity on European battlefields. Alongside crossbows come bombards, hauled up to the walls and set on a wooden bed, and the first handheld firearms fired by a match. The man who served such a weapon was no ordinary foot soldier: he was a craftsman who mixed his own powder and set the weapon up himself, and the more civilian, working clothing seen on gunner figures of the period matches that.
Try the separate parts dry first and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) once the stance holds. Level the mold seams with a file and fill them with putty. A primer is essential. Paint the skin and the eyes first. On a gunner it pays to play with surfaces: the wood of the bed, wrought iron and coarse fabric will take markedly different levels of sheen, and a deposit of soot and powder around the muzzle gives the figure its period character.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue and the base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
