About product

90 mm L/40.4 1:35 (RB model)

A precisely turned metal barrel in 1:35 scale from the Polish manufacturer RB model. It replaces the plastic barrel from the kit and offers a perfectly cylindrical shape, a sharp muzzle and fine detail without mold seams. It corresponds to the gun of 90 mm caliber and L/40.4 length of the postwar German Kanonenjagdpanzer (KaJaPa) tank destroyer.

The real subject

The Kanonenjagdpanzer, nicknamed the KaJaPa, was a West German tank destroyer of the Cold War period introduced into the Bundeswehr in the nineteen-sixties. It carried a gun of 90 mm caliber in a low cast hull without a turret, following conceptually on from the German tank destroyers of the Second World War. It served for defense against armored hardware.

Usage tips

Degrease the metal barrel and glue it with cyanoacrylate. Apply a primer for metal before painting. Accentuate the muzzle and the muzzle brake with a dark wash; postwar shades and a fine patina suit it.

Who the barrel is for

  • Modelers of postwar and Cold War hardware in 1:35 scale
  • Builders who want sharper detail than plastic gives
  • Advanced as well as moderately experienced modelers

This is a detail accessory for a plastic kit, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.

FAQ

It corresponds to the gun of 90 mm caliber and L/40.4 length of the West German Kanonenjagdpanzer (KaJaPa) tank destroyer of the Cold War period.

The Kanonenjagdpanzer was introduced into the Bundeswehr in the nineteen-sixties, so it is postwar Cold War hardware, not a weapon from the Second World War.

Degrease it and glue it with cyanoacrylate. Apply a primer for metal before painting so that the paint holds well.
