A resin kit of the figure of Apple from the Japanese animated series Red Photon Zillion in 1:12 scale from the manufacturer Hasegawa. It is supplied unpainted and is assembled by gluing. It is a set for experienced modelers, because working with resin differs from ordinary injection-molded plastic both in procedure and in glue.
Red Photon Zillion is a Japanese animated series of 1987 from the Tatsunoko studio. It tells of three young fighters who are given three special weapons to defend against an alien threat. Apple is the girl member of that trio and is among the best-known characters of the series. The figure captures her in 1:12 scale, that is in the size usual for collectible figures.
Wash the parts first in lukewarm soapy water so that the mold release agent disappears from the surface, otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw and level the surfaces with a file; sand the resin wet and protect your breathing while doing so. Glue the joints with super glue (cyanoacrylate), fill the gaps with putty and sand them again. Apply a primer before painting, then build up the skin and the fabric in thin coats of acrylic and bring out the recesses with a glaze.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin kit. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
