The assault engineer-sapper, Second World War, 1:16 is a plastic figure of a Soviet soldier from the maker ICM in a large collector scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic figure of a Soviet assault engineer in 1:16 scale from the maker ICM. The large scale allows detailed working of the figure, the equipment and the protective armor. The package contains the parts for assembling one standing figure.
In 1943 the Red Army began to form special assault engineer brigades meant for fighting in cities and for breaking through heavily fortified defensive lines. A characteristic feature of these units was a steel breastplate that protected the soldier against shrapnel and small arms fire. The most experienced and physically fit soldiers were chosen for the brigades and went through special training.
We recommend dry-fitting the parts and gluing with thin cement for plastic; filler can be used on small gaps. Apply a base filler before painting. The large scale comes into its own with shading and with bringing out the folds of the uniform, and it pays to set the steel armor apart with a metallic shade and a fine patina.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
