Space telescope and Space Shuttle orbiter 1:200 from Hasegawa is a plastic kit of two spacecraft in one scene, completed by astronaut figures and a stand.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit in 1:200 scale that brings together the orbiter of the American Space Shuttle with the Hubble space telescope and astronaut figures. The manufacturer adds a stand to the set, so the whole can be displayed as a scene of the moment before the telescope is released from the payload bay, or of the crew working outside. It is not a stand-alone model of the shuttle but a pair of spacecraft in one package.
The Hubble space telescope was carried into orbit by a shuttle and throughout its working life it was serviced and upgraded on shuttle flights, with the astronauts replacing instruments and gyroscopes on spacewalks. For this the orbiter used its payload bay and the robotic arm with which it caught the telescope and released it again. It was precisely this cooperation that gave Hubble a far longer life than had been expected, and it is the reason the two real subjects are built together.
Think the sequence through according to the scene you want to display: an open payload bay with the telescope calls for a different painting order than a closed orbiter. Paint the thermal protection on the underside of the orbiter in shades of gray and white and blur the transitions, because a sharp border looks unnatural in 1:200. The metallized surfaces of the telescope scratch easily, so handle them with gloves and do not glue them with a cement that attacks plastic. Paint the small figures with a brush only once they are in place. We recommend spraying the stand with a dark matte paint.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
