Border Model BF-010 is a large kit of the British Avro Lancaster B.Mk.I/III night bomber in 1:32 scale, with the full interior fitting of the fuselage.

The Avro Lancaster B.Mk.I/III kit from Border Model, part number BF-010, is the flagship model of the whole brand. It comes with the full interior fitting: the cockpit, the stations of the flight engineer, the wireless operator and the navigator, the bomb aimer's position and the bomb bay are all modeled in plastic. The molds were originally developed by the Wingnut Wings brand and after it closed in 2020 they were taken over by Border Model. The package offers optional parts for the B.Mk.I as well as the B.Mk.III version.
The Avro Lancaster was the main British four-engine night bomber of the second half of the war and the mainstay of Bomber Command. The B.Mk.I version had British-built Rolls-Royce Merlin engines, while the B.Mk.III received Merlins built under license by Packard in the United States — outwardly the machines were almost identical. A roomy bomb bay without transverse spars made it the bomber that could carry even the heaviest British bombs; the crew numbered seven men.
The model is extensive, so reckon on many subassemblies. Paint and weather the interior of the fuselage before you close the shells, because afterwards you cannot reach it. Mask the glazing and the gun turrets and fit them only after painting. Glue the large wings on a flat surface and stand the finished model on a solid base. A matte black lower surface swallows detail easily, so break it up with lighter tones panel by panel.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
