British Pilots in Tropical Uniform (1939-1943) is a set of three injection-molded plastic figures in 1:32 scale from ICM.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set brings three figures of British airmen in lightweight tropical kit from the first half of the Second World War. These are injection-molded plastic parts meant to be assembled and painted, with finely rendered detail of the clothing and the equipment. The figures will bring an aircraft model or a diorama set in North Africa and the Mediterranean to life.
British fighter and bomber pilots serving in tropical areas wore light short-sleeved shirts, shorts or light trousers, tropical footwear and accessories adapted to a hot climate. It is precisely this kit, different from the European one, that gives a desert battlefield scene the typical atmosphere of the years 1939 to 1943.
Separate the parts from the sprues carefully and clean up the mold seams. Use thin cement for plastic to glue them. We recommend a base coat with an airbrush and then working the faces, uniforms and equipment up with a brush. Khaki and sand tones come to life with gentle edge highlighting and light shading in the folds of the clothing.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
