This is an add-on set in 1:35 scale, not a model of the rocket launcher. According to the name it holds six pieces of 32 cm caliber rockets together with steel transport crates. The set is aimed at dioramas with German rocket artillery, at supply scenes and at the cargo bed of a vehicle.
The heaviest German rocket projectiles of this group shared the same propulsion section and differed in the warhead: besides the high-explosive version, an incendiary filling was also made for the larger of the calibers, meant to strike an area rather than a point. They were fired from towed equipment as well as directly out of the transport crating laid on a simple frame, so the crew could get a position ready quickly and almost anywhere. The range was short and the accuracy poor, but the psychological effect of a salvo was considerable. The steel crating was more durable than the wooden kind and stood up better to repeated handling and to the weather, a difference that can be shown on a model by a different patina.
Paint metal differently from wood: chipped edges, corrosion where it has been scuffed, a dark wash around the welds and the fittings. Make the arrangement uneven, one crate empty, one still loaded. The small parts are joined with a glue of short setting time, and it pays to work over a light surface.
