The ISU-122 was a Soviet heavy self-propelled gun developed late in the Second World War from the chassis of the IS heavy tank. It shared its armored casemate with the related ISU-152, but carried a long 122 mm gun with a high muzzle velocity that excelled against armored targets at long range. It was used both as a tank destroyer and as heavy fire support for the infantry when breaking through enemy defenses. It remained in service after the war as well.
Assemble and fit the running gear and the lower hull before closing the model up and painting it. Bring out the long barrel and the front plate of the casemate with shading, and lift the plain green finish with panel variation and a gloss coat under the decals. Build the weathering with dark washes in the seams, a steel dry brush on the edges and heavy dust and mud pigments on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
