A resin set of small hardware for models of the Soviet KV-1 and KV-2 heavy tanks in 1:35 scale. According to the manufacturer it contains the handles of the stowage boxes and the brackets for the spare track links, that is items which on injection-molded kits are either heavily simplified or merged with the hull plate. Thin 3D-printed handles look more faithful than plastic ones because they keep the real thickness of the wire.
The KV heavy tanks were named after Kliment Voroshilov and entered service in 1940. The KV-1 carried a gun of 76.2 mm caliber and armor that in the first year of the war on the Eastern Front coped with most German anti-tank weapons. On the same chassis the KV-2 was given a tall slab-sided turret with a 152 mm howitzer for demolishing fortifications. Both types suffered from an unreliable transmission and great weight. Crews routinely fixed spare track links and tool boxes to the hull, so the external hardware is a prominent feature on them.
Small resin prints break off easily, so cut them away with a scalpel only at the moment you glue them. Level the mark left by the support with a fine file under water; resin dust is not to be inhaled. Wash the surface with warm soapy water before painting so that no uncured print resin is left on it. Make the joint with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) and key the part with primer.
This is an accessory for modifying a model, not a kit of the vehicle. The parts are supplied unpainted; the base kit, the glue and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Check the exact contents on the box.
