The RM-2095 barrel from Rye Field Model is a standalone replacement part for a tank gun in 1:35 scale. The packaging intends it for models of the Leopard 2A6 and 2A7 from the Rye Field Model, Meng, Tamiya and Border Model kits. It is not a tank model: it is a 3D-printed part, not an injection-molded component, so the barrel has no longitudinal mold seam and is straight along its whole length. The manufacturer introduced it as a new release for 2025.
The Rheinmetall Rh-120 is a German 120 mm tank gun with a smoothbore, which became the standard of Western tanks. The L/55 version has a barrel 55 calibers long, that is 1.3 meters more than the older L/44; the longer travel of the projectile raises the muzzle velocity and with it the penetration of sub-caliber ammunition. This barrel sets the Leopard 2A6 apart from the older versions at first glance, and the Leopard 2A7 carries it as well. It is recognized by the longer, slimmer section beyond the fume extractor.
For modelers of modern armor for whom the plastic kit barrel is not good enough because of the mold seam, and for builders who need to replace a barrel warped by long storage.
It is an add-on for a model, not a kit. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
