Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Israeli main battle tank Magach 7C from Academy. The real subject is a deeply modernized version of the American M60 Patton tank with massive add-on armor, a reworked turret and Israeli modifications. The model faithfully captures the characteristic profile with armor blocks on the turret and hull, external stowage baskets and machine gun armament. Many parts are newly tooled; it is a medium-sized kit suitable for more advanced builders.
Magach is the family of Israeli tanks created by extensively modernizing American Pattons (the M48 and M60). The 7C version is one of the latest and best protected variants: it was given heavy add-on (passive) armor, a modernized fire control system and further modifications that raise its resistance to contemporary anti-tank weapons. Magach tanks formed the backbone of the Israeli armored forces for decades and went through a number of deployments in the Middle East.
With armored vehicles it pays to finish and paint the running gear and the lower hull before the upper parts are closed up — once glued, they are harder to reach. Assemble and paint the tracks and wheels separately. Bond the plastic with liquid modeling cement, apply a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush; the base is usually Israeli desert gray (Sinai Grey). For the patina use washes in the recesses and in the gaps between the armor blocks, and pigments for dust and mud effects on the running gear and the hull sides.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
