A set of two turned metal MG34 machine gun barrels in 1:35 scale is a detail accessory from the Polish manufacturer Aber for models of German Second World War vehicles.
Responsibility details are not available.
The package contains two turned metal barrels of the German MG34 machine gun in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit but a detail accessory that replaces the plastic machine gun barrels on models of tanks, armored personnel carriers, vehicles and figures. The metal part is perfectly straight, free of a parting line and with a precisely executed muzzle, so a small weapon on a model looks far more convincing than a soft plastic molding. Because almost every German vehicle of the period carried the MG34, this is an accessory you can use widely.
The MG34 was a German 7.92 mm general-purpose machine gun introduced in the mid-1930s. It served as an infantry weapon and as vehicle armament, where it filled the role of a coaxial machine gun in the turret, a hull machine gun and an anti-aircraft weapon on a turret mount. It was known for its high rate of fire and quick barrel change, which on models show up as the distinctive perforated barrel jacket and the slender protruding barrel.
Cut off the plastic barrel and carefully open up the hole in the jacket with a micro drill to the diameter of the metal part. Bond the metal with super glue, since cement for plastic will not hold. Degrease the surface before painting and apply a metal primer. Weapons on models look best in a dark gray to charcoal shade with a faint graphite sheen on the edges, completed by a dark wash in the perforation of the jacket.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
