Turned gun barrels for the Soviet T-35 tank in 1:35 from Aber, for the machines of 1938 and 1939. It is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of turned metal gun barrels in 1:35 for a model of the Soviet heavy tank T-35 in the form of 1938 and 1939. It is not a kit but a replacement for the plastic parts. On a vehicle with five turrets there are a lot of barrels and they are all seen at once, so the difference between plastic and metal is more marked here than on an ordinary tank with a single turret.
The T-35 was a Soviet five-turret heavy tank, the only one of its kind to reach series production. The main turret carried a gun of 76.2 mm caliber, two smaller turrets guns of 45 mm and the remaining ones machine guns. At parades it made an overwhelming impression, but in the field it turned out to be slow and unreliable, and most of the machines were lost in the first weeks after the invasion of the Soviet Union.
Cut the plastic barrel off as close to the turret as possible and drill the mating surface so that the pin of the metal barrel sits firmly but does not go through. Degrease the metal with alcohol and apply a primer, or the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, drop by drop. Fit the barrel only at the end of the build, so that it does not get bent while you handle the model, and check its axis by eye from the front while the glue sets. Sort the barrels by the turrets they belong to in advance, because they are alike and a mix-up shows only on the finished model.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
