Rye Field Model RM-2023 is a set of workable track links for models of the Soviet T-34 tank in 1:35 scale, made by 3D printing. It is an add-on for a kit; the tank model is not in the package.
Responsibility details are not available.
The RM-2023 set from Rye Field Model brings track links for the T-34 made by 3D printing in resin. It is not a tank kit but a replacement track run that is assembled link by link. The finished run stays workable, so it can be seated on the road wheels and allowed to sag under its own weight. The manufacturer offers 3D-printed tracks for other Soviet types as well, for instance for the KV-1 under RM-2037.
The T-34 was the most numerous Soviet medium tank of the Second World War, and its wide tracks were one reason it coped with mud and snow better than contemporary German machines. The track link changed several times during the war: types with a pronounced transverse grid were produced alongside smoother patterns, and which one a given vehicle wore depended on the factory and on the period. The tracks also wore heavily, so photographs often show links of different patterns in a single run.
3D-printed parts are glued with cyanoacrylate (super glue); ordinary plastic cement will not bond them. Wash the links before building and cut the print supports away carefully; protect your airways while sanding. A primer coat is a must, without it paint will not hold on the print. Compare the link pattern against a photograph of the vehicle you are building before you start; the manufacturer does not specify the track type any further. Polish the top faces of the links to a metallic sheen and, by contrast, dust the sunken areas.
It is an add-on for a model, not a kit. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
