A plastic kit of the Soviet medium tank T-34/85 Model 1944, Factory No. 174 in 1:35 scale from Rye Field Model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from Rye Field Model captures the Soviet T-34/85 medium tank in the 1944 production pattern from Factory No. 174. Tanks from the individual factories differed in a number of characteristic production details (the form of the turret, the layout and the welds), and it is precisely these features of one factory that are the subject of this kit. The box contains plastic parts, photo-etched parts and link-and-length tracks.
The T-34/85 was the main Soviet medium tank of the second half of the Second World War. Compared with the older T-34/76 it received a larger three-man turret with an 85 mm gun, which markedly raised its firepower against German armor. The combination of sloped armor, a reliable diesel engine, wide tracks and easy mass production made it one of the most successful tanks of the war. The 1944 pattern differed in details depending on the factory.
Finish and paint the running gear and any interior before you close up the hull. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue and use thin modeling cement on the plastic. Lay down a primer before the airbrush. For a convincing look, highlighting the welds, washes in the hollows and dust or mud pigments for weathering the running gear all work well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
