Yak-141 Freestyle 1:350 from Trumpeter is a set of small models of the supersonic vertical takeoff aircraft for completing ship models.
Responsibility details are not available.
The package contains six miniature injection-molded models of the Yakovlev Yak-141 aircraft (Freestyle in the NATO code) in 1:350 scale. These are small accessory aircraft meant for populating the decks of warship models in the same scale, not a large standalone model. Decals with general naval markings are included.
The Yakovlev Yak-141 was a Soviet supersonic aircraft with vertical, or rather short, takeoff and landing, developed for operation from the decks of ships. It was distinguished by a swiveling rear nozzle and a pair of lift engines in the fuselage. The program stayed at the prototype stage and never entered production service.
The parts are small; separate them with a sharp knife and glue them with liquid cement for plastic applied drop by drop. Painting with an airbrush before final assembly is the easiest; a gray naval finish was typical.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
