A photo-etched rigging wire set for a model of the Bristol Bulldog Mk.II fighter biplane in 1:48 scale from Airfix.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Bristol Bulldog was a British single-seat fighter biplane of the interwar period with a radial engine and fixed landing gear. In the Royal Air Force it was one of the most widespread fighter types in the 1930s. Like every biplane of its day it had a dense system of rigging wires between the wings that hold the flying surfaces together, and it is exactly that system which decides how a model finally reads.
Photo-etched rigging parts for the Bulldog Mk.II kit in 1:48 scale from Airfix. Compared with stretched thread, photo-etched rigging has a flat profile close to the shape of the profiled wires on the real machine, and it neither slackens nor sags. The placement and assignment of the individual parts is shown in the manufacturer's instructions, which also tell you which wires are fitted first.
Separate the parts with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface, not by twisting, or the ends will buckle. Sand the remains of the tab off with a fine file. Photo-etch is smooth, so before painting wash it, degrease it and coat it with primer, or the paint will not hold on it. The rigging is fitted only onto painted wings and is glued with the tiniest amount of super glue applied with the tip of a wire. Always check dry that a part fits exactly between its anchor points, because shortening it afterwards is awkward.
The package contains photo-etched parts only. The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
