Aviaeology ADD48C105-3 is a sheet of national insignia decals for the de Havilland Mosquito in 1:48 scale, in the variation of the RAF Second Tactical Air Force and the British Air Forces of Occupation in Germany from 1945 to 1947.

This is a sheet of national insignia, that is, of roundels and the fin flash. They are not airframe stencil markings, tail codes or serial numbers, and the sheet does not belong to one particular machine. What decides here is the unit: the manufacturer defines the sheet as the variation for the RAF Second Tactical Air Force, 2TAF for short, which in July 1945 was renamed the British Air Forces of Occupation in Germany, BAFO for short, and that for the period from early 1945 to early 1947. The common markings from the same years, that is, without this variation, come on sheet ADD48C105-2, and the earlier years from 1942 to early January 1945 on sheet ADD48C105-1.
The de Havilland Mosquito was a British twin-engine aircraft with a load-bearing structure of bonded wood and with Rolls-Royce Merlin engines. In the Second Tactical Air Force it served mainly as a fighter-bomber and a night fighter, and after the move to occupation duty in Germany it remained part of the British forces over the continent. Machines of the occupation forces tended to have markings and a color solution different from the home squadrons.
Spray a gloss clear coat under the decals so that no matte edges form beneath the carrier film. Cut the motif out, soak it briefly and slide it into place with a brush. Over rivets and engraved lines a decal fixer helps, followed by a decal softener, which draws the film down into the detail. Apply the softener only once the decal sits exactly where it should, because after that it will not move. Finally seal the whole surface with varnish.
