An injection-molded plastic kit of the early version of the Soviet attack helicopter Mi-24A (NATO code Hind-B) in 1:48 scale from Trumpeter. The model captures the original form of the machine, with a different nose and canopy glazing from the later versions. In the box you will find a decal sheet for period Soviet markings.
The Mi-24 is a heavy attack helicopter of Soviet design, which combines firepower with the ability to carry a small infantry group — a combination that has no parallel among Western attack helicopters. The early Mi-24A version was the first production form with a conventionally glazed cockpit for the pilot and the operator, still before the switch to the typical stepped two-seat cockpit of the later versions. The machine was armed with a machine gun and carried unguided rockets as well as guided anti-tank missiles on its stub wings.
Assemble the rotor head, the landing gear and the armament on the stub wings carefully so that the angles are right. Bond the canopy glazing with glue for clear parts so that it does not go matte, and mask it before spraying. Use liquid modeling cement on the plastic, apply a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush. The Soviet shades come to life with panel accents; apply the decals onto a smooth gloss coat and seal them with a matte coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
