Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXC fighter in 1:48 scale from ICM (Ukraine). The model captures the characteristic elliptical wing planform and the typical profile of the Mk.IX version. Besides the standard markings, the box offers the well-known scheme of the machine adapted to carry beer barrels over Normandy in 1944, which makes the model an attractive piece with a story.
The Supermarine Spitfire was one of the key British fighters of the Second World War. The Mk.IX version came about as a quick answer to the German Focke-Wulf Fw 190 fighters: the more powerful two-stage Rolls-Royce Merlin 60 series engine was built into the airframe and considerably improved performance at high altitude. The Mk.IX became one of the most widespread and most successful Spitfire variants.
Finish the cockpit and the wheel wells before you close the fuselage. Bond the parts with thin modeling cement and line the engine cowling and the wing-to-fuselage joint up carefully. Spray a primer and then the British camouflage scheme with an airbrush; lay a gloss clear coat under the decals and finally unify the surface with a matte varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
