An AFV Club Tiger I (Sd.Kfz.181), late version plastic kit in 1:48 scale — the German heavy tank of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger I (Sd.Kfz.181) heavy tank in its late, final production form from the manufacturer AFV Club. The model has Zimmerit texture molded into the surface of the parts, one-piece tracks of a flexible material, a one-piece barrel and photo-etched grilles above the engine. The 1:48 scale makes the model a compact but detailed version of the legendary tank.
The Tiger I was a German heavy tank deployed from 1942. It became famous for its strong armor and its gun of 8.8 cm caliber, which could destroy Allied tanks at long range. The late (final) version had a range of production changes — among them new steel road wheels without rubber tire bands and simplified details. Despite its high combat value the Tiger was expensive and demanding to maintain.
Assemble and paint the running gear and the tracks first, while they are easy to reach. Bring the molded Zimmerit out with a dark wash so that the texture shows. A base of Dunkelgelb with camouflage patches suits the late schemes; fine-tune the patina with dust and mud pigments on the running gear and the bottom of the hull.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
