Responsibility details are not available.
A kit of the twin-engined An-24 turboprop airliner in the B version, in 1:72 scale. The Ukrainian brand Amodel concentrates on transport and special-purpose aircraft outside the usual range; with kits of this kind reckon on dry fitting the parts and filling the joints. The manufacturer states neither the number of parts, the extent of the box nor the number of marking options.
The An-24 is an airliner for short and medium routes, designed at the end of the 1950s at the Antonov design bureau. It has a high-set wing, two turboprop engines and landing gear sized for unpaved runways, so it reached airfields without a paved surface as well. The An-24B version was the main airliner form, with a higher number of seats. The aircraft flew with dozens of operators in eastern Europe, in Asia and in Africa, and some of the machines are in service to this day, so for a modeler it offers a very wide range of finishes.
The most demanding part is a straight fuselage and a symmetrical seating of the wing; glue both halves after a dry test and make good any discrepancy with a shim rather than with pressure. Gloss white on the upper part of the fuselage will not forgive any blemish, so fill the joints, sand them back and spray on primer. Paint the turboprop nacelles and the propellers separately and check that all the blades have the same angle. Glue the windows on last and suggest the exhaust outlets with dark streaking along the airflow.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
