A photo-etched cockpit set for the De Havilland DH-82A Tiger Moth in 1:72 scale from SBS Model. A detail accessory for sharpening up the interior, not a kit. The set is developed for the Airfix kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a photo-etched detail set, not an aircraft kit. The stainless steel sheet set is meant to sharpen up the cockpit of the De Havilland DH-82A Tiger Moth trainer biplane in 1:72 scale considerably, for models of this type. It replaces and supplements the plastic parts of the pilot's compartment with fine photo-etched elements. The extent and the shapes of the parts follow the Airfix kit.
The photo-etched parts bring out the instrument panels, the seats, the harness belts, the levers and other small equipment that injection-molded plastic can capture only to a limited degree. The resulting interior reads more realistically, above all in an open cockpit, which on this type is clearly visible.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface and make the bends exactly along the etched line (a photo-etch bending tool helps). Bond small elements with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); flat joints will take epoxy as well. Degrease before painting and lay down a primer for good adhesion.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
