An injection-molded plastic model of the Soviet fighter biplane Polikarpov I-15 in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian manufacturer ICM. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted; it is a classic plastic kit to be glued and sprayed. You will find the exact package contents and the range of markings in the enclosed instructions.
The I-15 was a single-seat fighter biplane by the designer Nikolai Polikarpov from the first half of the 1930s. Its characteristic mark was the upper wing with a so-called gull bend, attached to the fuselage, which gave the pilot a good view. It was powered by an air-cooled radial engine and the machine excelled in exceptional agility. The I-15 proved itself in combat in the Spanish Civil War and in the fighting in the Far East and became the basis for later development versions.
With a biplane, devote the greatest care to the precise seating of the interplane struts - fit them dry first, so that the angles sit right, and only then fix the joints. Paint the cockpit and the radial engine and add the patina before closing the fuselage, because later you will not get at them. The bracing wires can be added from thin filament. Apply the base over primer, ideally with an airbrush; the fabric-covered surfaces come out well with a fine wash into the engraved lines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
