ICM 1:32 WWII RAF Cadets is a set of plastic figures of Royal Air Force flying cadets in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set from the Ukrainian manufacturer ICM holds plastic figures of Royal Air Force flying cadets from the Second World War. It is not an aircraft or vehicle model but an accessory that gives a finished model scale and context. The figures are injection-molded in plastic and have to be assembled and painted. Please check the exact number of figures, their poses and the contents of any decal sheet against the enclosed instructions.
The 1:32 scale is common for trainers and light aircraft, which is exactly what figures like these suit. Crew training took place on biplane and light monoplane trainers, where the pupil and the instructor sat one behind the other in open cockpits. The typical look of the period is a flying suit or a flying jacket, a leather helmet with goggles and a parachute harness. It is precisely these items that decide the credibility of the resulting scene with flying training figures.
Clean the mold seams off the figures carefully, and go gently on the faces and hands so that the sculpted detail is not rubbed away. Apply a thin primer, ideally sprayed, so that the features are not clogged. Build the skin up from a darker base toward lighter highlights, and finish the cloth with a fine wash into the folds and a dry brush on the raised areas. Try the figures in place before fitting them to the model, because the seat in a cockpit tends to be tight and the position of the legs or arms sometimes has to be adjusted.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
