1:72 KV-220-2 (76 mm Gun) Heavy Tank is a plastic kit of the Soviet experimental heavy tank KV-220 in the version with the standard turret and a 76 mm gun, from the maker PST.

A plastic kit of the Soviet experimental heavy tank KV-220 in 1:72 scale, in the form designated KV-220-2, that is, with the ordinary turret of the KV-1 tank and a 76 mm gun. The model thus stands on the border between the production KV-1 and the supertanks that were never built.
The KV-220, also carried in the documents as Object 220, came about in 1940 as an attempt at a considerably stronger KV-1. The hull was lengthened and got one more road wheel, the armor was thickened to one hundred millimeters and an 85 mm gun was planned for the new large turret. From the start, however, the prototype was plagued by an unreliable power train and the machine never reached production. In the KV-220-2 version it carried the production turret from the KV-1 with a 76 mm gun instead of the original one, and in this form it took part in the defense of Leningrad at the end of 1941. It is therefore a vehicle that existed in single figures.
The tracks are of hard plastic, so glue them onto perfectly cleaned running gear and let them harden undisturbed. The lengthened hull invites pronounced seams, so filler and sanding before the base coat pay off. Soviet green will take lightening of the upper surfaces and a dark wash in the riveted and welded transitions. Winter service offers a whitewash coat: it is laid on in a thin layer and part of it is then carefully rubbed off so that the base shows through.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
