A plastic kit of the LaGG-3 (66th series) in 1:72 scale from Roden: one of the last production series of the Soviet fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet LaGG-3 fighter in the 66th production series in 1:72 scale from Roden. The model captures the late, aerodynamically cleaned-up form of this machine. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted; go by the enclosed instructions for the contents of the package and the number of finishing schemes.
The LaGG-3 was a Soviet single-seat fighter of the Second World War with a wooden airframe. The 66th series was among the last and most refined versions: it went through an extensive program of lightening and aerodynamic changes that improved its flying performance compared with the early series. These were the last production Lavochkin fighters with a liquid-cooled V12 engine, after which the design line moved on to the La-5 with a radial engine.
Finish and paint the cockpit before joining the fuselage, and mask the canopy glazing before spraying. Spray the base over a primer and use an airbrush for smooth transitions between the Soviet camouflage shades. The wooden skin comes out well with a fine wash in the panel lines; suggest wear sparingly. Fit the landing gear and the propeller only at the end of the build, so that the small parts are not damaged.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
