An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from Zvezda. The model captures the Soviet T-62 medium tank; unusually for Zvezda it comes with link-and-length track links (assembled from segments) and a decal sheet with general Soviet markings (numbers and stars). The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The T-62 was a Soviet medium tank based on the proven T-55, which entered service at the beginning of the 1960s. Its main novelty was the 115 mm U-5TS smoothbore gun, which made it the first production tank in the world with a smooth bore. The Soviet Union built tens of thousands of them and the T-62 spread to many armies all over the world, where it took part in many conflicts of the Cold War and later.
In the small 1:72 scale, glue the parts accurately and with a light touch using a thin cement for plastic. Assemble the link-and-length track links carefully so that the track wraps around the wheels naturally. Apply a primer and paint with an airbrush; a uniform green shade is typical of Soviet vehicles. Bring out the recesses and details with a dark wash, the edges with a dry brush, and dust the running gear with dust and mud pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
