An injection-molded plastic kit of the variable fighter VF-31F Siegfried in 1:72 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Hasegawa. The edition carries a special color scheme named after Kaname Buccaneer. The model is supplied unpainted and is built by gluing; the decals and the breakdown of parts are given in the instructions in the kit.
The VF-31 Siegfried is a variable fighter from the Japanese animated series Macross Delta. In the story the VF-31F airframe belongs to Messer Ihlefeld, one of the pilots of the Delta squadron. Kaname Buccaneer is a member of the Walküre singing unit that accompanies the squadron, and it is her colors that the airframe wears in this form. The type belongs among variable fighters, that is machines which in the series change shape between an aircraft and a robot, and in the story they make up the armament of the Delta squadron.
Paint and finish the cockpit and the gear bays before you close the fuselage. Separate the parts with cutters, glue the joints with thin cement for polystyrene and sand the mating surfaces so that filling is not needed. The color scheme comes out cleanest with an airbrush; apply a gloss clear coat under the decals and overcoat them with matte as needed once they have settled. Glue the canopy only with cement for clear parts.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
