The Harley-Davidson WLA 750 in 1:9 scale — a plastic kit of the American military motorcycle of the Second World War from Italeri.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American military motorcycle Harley-Davidson WLA 750 from the Second World War, in the large 1:9 scale from Italeri. The big format allows a rich rendering of the engine, the frame and the period military equipment, and it makes assembling the smaller parts more pleasant.
The WLA 750 was the military derivative of the civilian Harley-Davidson W series. It was powered by an air-cooled 750 cc (45 cubic inch) V-twin. During the Second World War the US Army used it in large numbers for liaison, reconnaissance and escort duties. Among the soldiers the machine earned the nickname Liberator, because Allied riders used it during the liberation of Europe. Its typical equipment included khaki paint, panniers, a weapon scabbard and blackout lights.
Work in subassemblies — first finish the engine, the transmission and the frame, and only then fit the fenders and the accessories. The base is a matte olive (khaki) finish; an airbrush will give an even coat. A patina supports the military look: dark washes in the recesses, dust and mud pigments on the lower parts and dry-brushing along the edges. Bring the leather and fabric accessories (the panniers, the seat) to life with different shades and a light highlight.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
