An English-language monograph from the Warpaint aviation series, published by Guideline Publications. The text was written by William Harrison. It is not a kit but a publication on the twin-engine British Airspeed Oxford trainer and on its postwar civil conversion, the Consul. The volume covers both the military and the civil career of the type.
The Oxford had a largely wooden structure and radial engines, and it could handle several training roles in one fuselage: dual pilot controls, a navigator's table and a place for a gunner and a radio operator. More than eight thousand were built and a large part of the Allied crews passed through it within an extensive training program. After the war many airworthy machines remained, and so the Consul came about, a conversion with a cabin for several passengers that served small carriers and air taxi work.
For modelers who devote themselves to British trainers and to the civil air transport of the postwar period, and for readers interested in flying training. Two different careers in one book also mean two different sets of markings. The text is in English. Check the extent, the arrangement and the language edition on the box.
