Responsibility details are not available.
An English-language monograph from the Warpaint aviation series, published by Guideline Publications. The text was written by Dave Hooper. It is not a kit but a publication on the German fighters of the First World War. The volume distinguishes the D.I, D.II and D.III versions and the changes the type went through.
The Albatros fighters were built around a wooden semi-monocoque fuselage, an inline six-cylinder engine and a pair of synchronized machine guns. The fuselage was unusually clean for its time and it allowed a well-cowled engine with efficient cooling. The D.III version brought a narrower lower wing with V-struts, which improved the view downward, but with the early production batches trouble appeared with its strength and the machines had to be reinforced. The best-known German fighter units of 1917 flew Albatros fighters, and the type also reached the allies of Germany.
For modelers of First World War aircraft who need to tell the individual versions and their markings apart. It is a slimmer volume of the series, not an extensive monograph. It suits models in 1:72 and 1:48, where the differences between the versions decide the markings. The text is in English. Check the extent, the arrangement and the language edition on the box.
