A narrow flat brush with synthetic fiber from the Mr. Brush BS line of the Japanese brand Gunze. It is a compromise between a flat brush and a detail brush: the edge is straight as on a flat brush, but narrow, so it can paint even where a wide brush overshoots. A tool, not a paint.
For modelers who find a flat brush too wide and the stroke of a round one too rounded. A narrow straight edge guides the paint precisely along engraved lines, and that is the most common need on vehicles and on aircraft alike. Synthetic fiber keeps its shape after washing and stands up to solvents better than natural hair, so it survives work with lacquer paints and their thinners.
Never let paint dry in the metal ferrule; it cannot be washed out of there and the fiber splays permanently. After work, wash the brush with the thinner matching the paint you used, then with soapy water, shape it with your fingers and let it dry lying flat or with the fiber upward. Do not press the brush hard against the model and do not stir paint in the jar with it; both ruin the shape of the fiber faster than painting itself.
